Lucy Rosenburg

Kids Matter board member, Dr. Lucy Rosenberg has written a poem to say thank you to all of the volunteers who give of their time and energy to help "our kids."

Volunteers Matter
     By Lucy Rosenberg

You could be shopping or lying on sunny sand, playing cards, golfing or going someplace grand. Instead you choose to use precious time for children. Make their world better
To know no matter what
----Kids Matter

Kids Matter, they need you They are tiny, helpless vulnerable and weak

Kids Matter, they need you for food, clothing, shelter to love, care, keep them safe

Kids Matter, they grow and Unfold, Blossom, Emerge Develop potential

Kids Matter, they hurt when beaten, battered, burned, bruised insulted, belittled, used

You Matter, they need you to Listen, Understand Command their right to Be

You Matter, go to bat to restore dreams and hope to show them--- Kids Matter

We need them for today To save our tomorrow Kids Matter, You Matter
Thank you for all you do.

Dr. Lucy Rosenberg was recently featured on the Nov. 14th edition of WUWM’s Lake Effect where she reflected on her life filled with child advocacy and writing poetry. You can listen to the podcast by clicking here.

Thank you to our Holiday Gift Donors and Organizers!

Thank you to everyone who made such a happy holiday possible for "our kids" this year! Our shoppers went above and beyond our expectations by including extra gifts and buying every wish on the list when we only expected one. The Kids Matter office was transformed into what looked like Santa's workshop with presents as far as the eye could see. We especially want to thank everyone at our partner organizations for spreading the news about why kids matter and encouraging your colleagues and coworkers to keep "our kids" in their hearts.

Thanks to the extra gifts we received, we were able to make sure children recently placed into foster or kinship care didn't get forgotten. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, hundreds of local foster and kinship children had a gift to open this holiday season. We couldn't have done it without all of you and can't express our thanks enough!
