Meet CASA Volunteer Grace
Small efforts add up to big change. In 2023, Grace heard about CASA from her friend’s sister, who volunteered with the program. The opportunity grabbed her right away, because it combined two things she is passionate about: working with children and advocating for her community.
In her professional life, Grace works in sustainability as a waste and recycling consultant for food and beverage manufacturers. She sees how small waste reduction efforts, multiplied across large-scale production, create a significant positive impact for communities and the planet.
Her Path to CASA
For Grace, lasting change begins with individuals. “I believe systemic change is driven by the collective decisions and actions of individuals,” she says. “Showing up consistently for children in my community is a meaningful way I can contribute to a healthier, more prosperous, and joyful future for the next generation.”
Outside of CASA
Grace loves sending “snail mail” to family and friends! She mails postcards, handmade cards, silly doodles, and classic letters.
Grace, thank you for showing up consistently for our kids, one small action at a time. We are so lucky to have you!
At Kids Matter CASA, we are endlessly inspired by volunteers like Grace —people who step up, even during uncertain times, to stand beside children who need a voice. If you’re interested in becoming one of them, learn more about how you can get involved.
