Meet Allison

Allison is the Children’s Program Coordinator at Sojourner Family Peace Center, where she provides education and support to youth and families affected by domestic violence in the Milwaukee area. With this kind of hands-on experience, Allison comes into her role as a CASA volunteer already equipped with the compassion, insight, and advocacy skills that make a meaningful difference for children.

Her Path to CASA

Allison first discovered CASA while earning her Master of Science in Child Life at Edgewood College. The idea stuck with her. As she continued building her career supporting children and families, becoming a CASA volunteer felt like a natural extension of the work she cares deeply about.

Why It Matters

“I believe that children are our future”, Allison shares. “It’s imperative that those of us who are able step up to support and guide them.” That belief isn’t just something Allison says – it’s something she lives out every day. Through her professional role and her CASA advocacy, she shows up for young people in meaningful ways, helping ensure they feel supported, heard, and valued. Her commitment reflects a bigger vision: when we invest in vulnerable youth, we strengthen the future of our entire community.

Outside of CASA

When she is not advocating for children, Allison is taking a new challenge – training for her first marathon this April. Way to go Allison!

At Kids Matter CASA, we are endlessly inspired by volunteers like Ellen—people who step up, even during uncertain times, to stand beside children who need a voice. If you’re interested in becoming one of them, learn more about how you can get involved.
