Changing a child’s story can begin with just a simple act. Jack Koehler is one of our incredible volunteers whose act of compassion led him to CASA and a chance to become a strong advocate for foster youth in Milwaukee.
Finding CASA and Making an Impact
Jack was self-employed for over 30 years as an executive search professional, and now that he is retired, he was looking for a new volunteer opportunity. One day, while at the Atlanta Airport, he noticed a poster about CASA. Curious, he later took the time to learn more about the program and decided to step forward – a decision that would change lives.
A natural mentor, Jack has always enjoyed being around kids, whether through parenting, coaching sports, or serving as a mentor. We are so grateful for everything Jack does, seizing the chance to make a difference in a child’s life, one at a time.

A passion for biking
Outside of his CASA work, Jack loves cycling, especially when visiting his grandchildren in Madison, where he says: “the biking opportunities are plentiful.” Thanks for the tip, Jack!
At Kids Matter CASA, we are endlessly inspired by volunteers like Jack—people who step up, even during uncertain times, to stand beside children who need a voice. If you’re interested in becoming one of them, learn more about how you can get involved.
